I was a bit worried when I first started The Cruel Prince. Its depiction of fae being dark and twisted isn’t my favourite. It’s Wonderland-esque. I prefer “light”, principled, honour-bound fae.

Review: The Sea King (Weathermages of Mystral #2) by C.L. Wilson
I really enjoyed The Sea King, but I’ll confess I’m disappointed I wasn’t able to give it 5 stars. I had to dock a star for two key reasons…
If you loved Roar, read these three fantasies next!
I just finished Roar by Cora Carmack and I think it was my favourite book so far this year! So if you haven’t read it yet, what the hell are you waiting for?? But if you have read it (and loved it), I wanted to […]
Royal Bastards – AWESOME Fantasy Friendship Story!
I loved this story! Royal Bastards ended up being everything I hoped it would: Kingdoms Awesome, rebellious, brave characters Magic!! I think the best thing for me was the characters. There were five main ones and they were all fantastic in their own ways. They […]
Long May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas
Facts: Long May She Reign is not really a romance. There are a few bits and pieces, but it’s ultimately sooo not the focus of the story, which is kind of appropriate. It seemed like it would be a fantasy book, but it’s not really. […]

Frostblood by Elly Blake (I should have loved it but I didn’t)
Objectively, Frostblood ticked so many boxes that should have made me fall in love with it. But sadly, that’s not what happened. The book missed out on that connection. I never really got invested in the characters or story. The world building was kind of […]
Series Review: Queen of the Tearling (no spoilers!)
It took me long enough, but I finally finished The Queen of the Tearling series! This post doesn’t contain spoilers for any of the books, so you can safely read everything here even if you haven’t read the first one yet (just skip reading the […]
Nemesis by Anna Banks Gave the Wrong First Impression
My first impression. The title (“Nemesis”) -> To me, screams intense, awesome, badass warrior girl on a mission for revenge. (Or maybe some kind of undercover operation.) The cover (which I love) -> Reinforces everything about the title. Kind of a stone cold killer warrior […]
